Her diagnosis...Parvo...a nasty intestinal virus that is very contagious, comes on fast, and can kill a dog in three days. The tragic thing about it is that Parvo is completely preventable with vaccinations. This upsets us greatly, since the previous owners assured us she was fully immunized. Obviously not, said the vet. Our neighbor's dog also caught this virus, and died the day after Holly got home from the animal hospital. Sadness!! Thankfully, Holly is recovering now, but for several days we weren't sure if she'd make it. It was a rough week for our family. One thing we learned from this...never take anyone's word that your dog has been immunized. Demand documentation, or have it done yourself. Holly's medical bills ended up topping $700.00, but that's a small price to pay for our sweet little doggie who we've all grown to love, and can't imagine our home without her.

Our Sick Puppy
Our poor little dog Holly, she has been one sick little puppy. Here she is just after we brought her home from the animal hospital. She had spent a couple of days in isolation, hooked up to an IV. Notice the yellow bandage where they shaved her leg and put in the line. Ouch!
