We went to Witchfest at Gardner Village! Such a fun, spooky event with witches wandering around everywhere you look. Super fun!

October Tradition

Paula’s Wedding

We went to St. George for Paula’s beautiful wedding. Had such a fun weekend with our family! It was very warm for October. The kids had a blast swimming in the pools! We watched a lot of football and played games and did puzzles. So grateful to spend time and make memories with those we love most.

 Hello family! Fall is in the air--my favorite season! I love that my birthday lands right during the peak of autumn colors in Utah. This year to celebrate my birthday Kent took me to the high Uinta mountains where we stayed in a cozy little cabin surrounded by the most spectacular fall colors, they took my breath away! On Saturday afternoon we drove along the Mirror Lake Highway from Kamas to the top of Mount Baldy and stopped at every lookout, waterfall and scenic view along the way. Then e hiked around beautiful Mirror Lake. Such a fun and memorable birthday weekend! 

Here is a little update on Kent and I. We are doing well, the school year is well underway and we are both enjoying anohter year as educators. As we shared at the reunion this past summer, Kent is now in his thirty-first year of teaching. Full retirement benefits kick in after thirty years, so his days as a teacher are winding down. He can call it quits at any time now, even mid-year. But so far he is still enjoying his career and says he will know when the time is right to make that move. As forme, I have a cute little second grade class this year. I plan to continue teaching until Kent retires, or until the district closes my school, whichever comes first. The biggest change for us is that Kent has officially stepped away from coaching. After three decades of coaching basketball and cross country, it feels like a whole new life for us! Kent is loving all his free time. Right now he is filling much of that time on the golf course. It has been lovely for me as well, I will have my husband back between the months of November and March! One fun perk I am excited about...I have always wanted to travel during the holidays but his games, practices and tournaments during Christmas break have always kept us close to home. So this year we decided to take advantage of our freedom and spend New Year's Eve in the Bahamas! Very much looking forward to that.

A quick update on our kids...Rachel and George are thriving in Eagle Mountain, they always have creative, ambitious household projects going on. Ivy is in first grade, Eli is in pre-school. We are so relieved and grateful that Eli has fully recovered from his broken femur, we will never forget our summer of his crazy, huge cast. 

Braden and Mandee pop in every so often for a meal or to watch a game with us, they always have entertaining stories to tell. Stefanie and Erik are happy with their California lifestyle, their careers and their world-traveling adventures. We spent a wekk with them in August, we rented a beach house and let them show us all around their beautiful city of Oceanside. Kent and I are loving this stage of parenthood and friendship with our grown-up, independent children. We could not be more proud of each of them. 

So fun to read about everyone's activities and interests! We hope everyone is doing well and look forward to future get-togethers. Love you all!
