FOAM DAY!

Braden and his friends had a great time at Lehi's annual "foam day". It is a riot...soap and water are shot into the air and an entire city park is covered with suds for everyone to run through, slip, slide and throw around. I just stood back watching everyone and laughing. Craziest thing I've ever seen.

Stefanie's Photo Shoot

Last week I took Stefanie to a photo studio to get some professional pictures done of her at age eleven. She is beautiful and I think they turned out great! Here are some of my favorites...

Hooray for the Cherry Tree!

I am so pleased with the little cherry tree in our garden. We planted it a little over a year ago, and this summer it has done great.

It is a tiny little tree, not much taller than me, but this past spring we had beautiful pink blossoms all over it, then blossoms became little cherries. We watched as they grew and turned rosy red.

Yesterday I decided I'd better pick them before the birds got them all. There weren't many, but just enough for a cherry pie.

I went online and found a recipe...so easy and yummy!

Hooray for cherry pie!!

Cherry Pie

9 inch double pie crust

4 Tbsp quick-cooking tapioca

1/8 tsp salt

1 cup white sugar

4 cups pitted cherries

1/4 tsp almond extract

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 Tbsp butter

Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place bottom crust in piepan. In a large mixing bowl combine tapioca, salt, sugar, cherries and extracts. Let stand 15 minutes. Pour into bottom crust and dot with butter. Cover with top crust, flute edges, and cut vents in top. Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown.

He Understands

This was a phone call from a 12-year-old Nebraska boy to a Christian radio station in Texas. It really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. It's short, but a message worth listening to.
