New School Year
This is the introduction I used for Back to School Night. So excited to begin another year of teaching first grade at Lehi Elementary!
Dear Parents,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as your child's first grade teacher! My name is Janeal Smith. I grew up in Preston, Idaho. I graduated from BYU where I met my husband. He is from Chicago and is a teacher and coach at Copper Hills High School. We have three children: a married daughter who lives here in Lehi, a son who just returned from an LDS mission in Honduras, and a daughter who is a junior at Lehi High School.
This is my second year teaching at Lehi Elementary. I was a stay-at-home mom until all my children were in school, I then became a music specialty teacher at Saratoga Shores Elementary for eight years. I am so grateful for this opportunity to teach here in Lehi, I feel very blessed and lucky. My job as a first grade teacher is a dream come true for me!
My family and I have lived in Lehi for 20 years, we love it here! My two oldest children attended Lehi Elementary before we moved outside of the boundaries. It is fun for me to get to teach at the school where they got their educational start.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their parents. Please feel free to contact me at any time.
