Pina Colada Punch
We love this punch on New Years! I thought I'd better post it here for posterity. (And because I forget the recipe every year!) So yummy!
Pina Colada Punch

1 frozen pineapple juice, make as directions on the can
*or 64 oz ready-to-drink container of pineapple juice
*or 64 oz ready-to-drink container of pineapple juice
1 quart or 32 oz Pina Colada Mixer
1 2-liter bottle 7-up or Sprite
Pour the pineapple juice in a large punch bowl. Add the Pina Colada mixer and mix well. Put in the freezer for several hours until completely frozen. An hour before serving, pour the 7-up over top, breaking up the frozen juice mix. You can add another two liter of 7-up about half way through the night. It will still be very pina colad-y. Enjoy!

Theodore
Our hearts were so broken after Holly died. Stefanie really wanted to get a new puppy right away, but Kent and I were not ready. Then we found an ad on KSL for a little red pomeranian puppy, exactly what Kent was hoping for. We all went to to take a look--Stefanie's first words, "I LOVE him!" So we took him home and named him Theodore (Teddy for short!) We still miss Holly so much, but we are happy to have a little doggie in our home again.

Michael's Wedding
We were so happy for Michael Campbell on his wedding day and glad Braden was asked to be his best man. These two have been best friends since elementary school, I think of Michael as my second son. He will always be part of our family. Love you Michael!

Introduction
This is my introduction to my new students and their parents. I posted it on my first grade blog, but wanted to also include it here!
Dear Parents,
Hello! I am thrilled to introduce myself as your child's first grade teacher! My name is Janeal Smith. I grew up in Preston, Idaho, the second child of eight. I graduated from Preston High School (of Napoleon Dynamite fame) and then went to BYU where I earned my degree in Elementary Education and also met my husband. He is from Chicago and is a teacher and coach at Copper Hills High School. We have three children: a married daughter who lives here in Lehi, a son who recently returned from an LDS mission in Honduras, and our "baby" who is a student at Lehi High School.
This is my third year teaching at Lehi Elementary. I was a stay-at-home mom until all my kiddos were in school, then I became a music specialty teacher at Saratoga Shores Elementary for a few years. I am so grateful for this opportunity to teach here in Lehi, I feel very blessed and lucky. My job as a first grade teacher is a dream come true for me!
My family and I have lived in Lehi for over 20 years, we love it here! My two oldest children attended Lehi Elementary before we moved outside of the boundaries. It is fun for me to get to teach at the school where they got their educational start.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their parents. If you have any questions, my school number is: (801) 610-8712, extension #205. My school email is: janealsmith@alpinedistrict.org. My cell phone # is (801) 787-4444. Please feel free to call, email or text me at any time.
Here are a few pictures to help you get to know me a little better.
