Busy Rachel

Time for a post about Rachel! She just got home from California late last night, she was gone with her high school Madrigal Choir for five days, we missed her! She had a great time, she took tons of pictures and videos, it was fun this morning hearing all about her adventures, and receiving gifts and souveneirs she brought home for the family. So glad she got to go, and had such a fun time. She loves her choir.

The other love of her life is lacrosse. She carries her lacrosse stick nearly everywhere she goes. This is her second year of playing on the high school team, she is getting really good. Before she decided to join the team I had no idea what lacrosse was, and had never seen a game. I posted all about it here. Below are some current pictures of her latest game.

Tami's Graduation

So happy for my little sister Tami who graduated yesterday from BYU. She looked so cute in her cap and gown. The family had a little graduation party for her the night before, then many of us were able to go to the Marriott Center the next morning where she received her diploma. It brought back memories of my own BYU graduation 18 years ago. I was seven weeks pregnant and miserable with all-day "morning" sickness. Ahh, happy memories.

Congratulations Tami! Now go take on the world!

A Few April Happenings

Here are a few things we've done so far this month...

NO MORE BRACES FOR BRADEN: Last Thursday was a big landmark day for Braden...look at those pearly white teeth! He was so excited to have his braces removed. After two and a half years he was more than ready to be brace-free. Everyone kept teasing him about being ready to kiss the girls. He had a big smile on his face all day long.

BASKETBALL BANQUET: Last Monday evening marked the final official basketball event of the year...the team banquet. Kent did a great job organizing it, it was a catered dinner for all the players and their families, about 150 people in attendance. After dinner was an awesome slide show featuring all the highlights of the season. The JV and sophomore coaches said a few words about their teams and the season, then Kent handed out awards to the varsity boys and spoke about each of them. He doesn't get emotional very often but this was one of those few times when he couldn't hold it back, he loves and will miss every one of those senior boys. It was a great night.

HOLLY'S NEW HOUSE: Holly likes her little home and looks so cute peeking out from it. This has been a fun family project.

Easter Weekend

Conference and Easter occurred on the same weekend this year, which was actually quite fitting. The conference talks were inspiring, many of them bore witness of Jesus Christ and His resurrection and atonement, and the music was beautiful. We managed to fit in most of our Easter traditions between sessions. Even waking up to two inches of snow on the ground Sunday morning didn't get in our way too much. But our annual Easter picnic will have to wait for a warmer day.
