Meteor Shower

We've been hearing a lot about the meteor shower this year. I've never paid much attention, but I guess every year in mid-August, stars streak across the night sky at an extremely high rate. We heard on the news that this year the peak would occur on August 12 and 13th between midnight and dawn. So Rachel set her alarm, and 2:00 a.m. found us out on the deck with our necks craned upward. We weren't disappointed. In Rachel's words..."This was really cool, I've never seen so many shooting stars at one time." Stefanie said, "At first I was scared because I didn't know what a meteor shower was. I thought fireballs would be hitting our houses, but it wasn't scary at all. It was so pretty. I saw sixteen shooting stars."

I think this may become an annual tradition.
