This has been a rough week at our house, the flu is going around. Stefanie didn't get out of bed for two days, and then Dad came down with it. He hasn't done much this weekend, except lay around coughing. So far I am holding out, cross your fingers for me. I choose to be healthy!!! Have you had any sick days? Not so fun.
The Winter Olympics have begun!! We love the Olympics! Have you had the opportunity to watch any events? Every evening we look forward to cheering for team USA! We looked to see if any Honduran athletes are competing, doesn't look like it. Probably not too many opportunities to train for any winter events there in the tropics, haha. We are looking forward to watching the next couple of weeks. So far we have seen Men's Downhill, Men's and Women's Snowboarding, Freestyle Ski Jumping, and Women's Figure Skating. We are looking forward to the Speed Skating events and Ice Hockey games coming up later this week. So exciting!
Here is a message from Dad: "Hey Elder Smith, how is the work going? Did your baptisms happen this weekend? Four baptisms in a month is awesome. Just wondering if your money is OK with your two trips to Tegucigalpa last month? Let us know if you need more. Things at home are going well, the basketball season is wrapping up. Unless we have a miracle, we won't be making it to the state playoffs. We lost in overtime to Riverton this week, but we have improved a lot since last year, the scores have been a lot more competitive. Sounds like things are going well, proud of you, keep up the good work."
From Stefanie: "Hi! Right now I am watching downhill skiing in the Olympics, it is the hardest event! The athletes are so ripped! They probably do this all day every day, and then they have to climb back up and do it again. I just started a new semester, I have Foods, P.E., English, Comp Tech, History, Biology, Math 2 and Seminary. Seminary is good, I like it a lot. We are learning about Ammon. My teacher is Bother Peck, he is really cool, he is my favorite. In Biology we have to kill bugs and disect a pig, a frog and a fish. See ya."
Yesterday I went to a Stake Relief Society women's conference, the guest speaker was the mission President from the Provo, Utah Mission--including Lehi and all of Utah County. He was a great speaker, full of inspiring stories about his missionaries, investigators and the work they are doing. At one point he asked the women to raise their hands if they had a son or daughter serving a full-time mission. I was so proud to raise my hand!! He read this quote by Elder L. Tom Perry, "This is the most remarkable era in the history of the Church. This is something that ranks with the great events that have happened in past history, like the First Vision, the gift of the Book of Mormon, and the Restoration of the gospel." Wow, that's amazing! And there you are on the front lines of this remarkable era! So grateful. WE LOVE YOU!
