Last night before bed we heard there was a wildfire west of our home in Saratoga Springs. We could see the flames on the mountain behind our home. This was what I woke up to this morning...
We have been following the news all day...currently this wildfire is 0% contained, over 4000 acres have burned, winds gusting at 30 mph, 9000 people have been evacuated from over 2300 homes, and these numbers have been climbing higher and higher all day. These include the homes and families in the neighborhood where I teach school. My poor kids! I am worried about them. An evacuation center has been set up at Rachel's alma mater, West Lake High School. I have recognized several of my students from the news casts and updates that have been filmed there throughout the day. So scary!
