And now
for the post you have all been waiting for...just kidding! I have so
enjoyed reading everyone's updates! You are all involved with amazing,
important things. What a busy summer everyone is having! We decided
that we needed one
last family vacation before a wedding and a mission farewell. We just
returned from a visit to Alaska where we had a great time hiking, zip
lining and whale watching. So fun! It was wonderful to leave the world
and all technology behind. We were without wi-fi or cell phone service
for nine days, it was amazing. It was also interesting to realize that
Stefanie is the most tech-addicted member of our family--she complained
more than the rest of us combined. We got home late Tuesday night, and
by early Wednesday morning she had unpacked, done laundry, repacked and
was off to girls camp. She is looking forward to a summer full of
tumbling and cheer practice. Wedding plans are coming along splendidly. Announcements will be sent out this week, be watching for them! The ceremony at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple begins at noon, followed by a luncheon at George's parents' beautiful home in northeast Lehi, then the reception at Sleepy Ridge in Orem that evening from 7-9. They are planning to honeymoon in the Bahamas, and then will move into an apartment at George's parents' home. We are so excited that Margaret will be able to come out, such great news! Everything has just come together so smoothly, we are hoping that trend will continue. Rachel is counting down the days...27 as of today I believe. Can't wait to see everyone, and will surely miss Mom and Dad that day.
Another date to put on your calendar...July 21st at 9:00 a.m. for Braden's farewell meeting, followed by brunch at our house. We hope many of you can come! We are nearly ready to put him on the plane to Mexico...he was immunized yesterday and has been feverish and achy all day today, poor guy. I have created a new blogsite to share all of his missionary letters and pictures for the next two years, take a look here. After his mission I will have it published into a hardcover book. It is a project I am super excited to take on. He and Rachel will go through the temple for the first time later this month, and we are thrilled that Braden will be able to attend the wedding ceremony.
So lots of changes coming up soon for us! Take one last look at my beautiful chickies before two-thirds of them fly away from my nest!
