Cafe Du Monde

Way up high on Kent's "must do" list was a stop at Cafe Du Monde for an order of Beignets. Oh my! They are the most delicious treat on the planet! A beignet (pronounced "ben-yay") is like a doughnut, but it is square and has no hole in the middle. It is fried to a golden brown, then sprinkled with lots of powdered sugar...heaven! Cafe Du Monde is a cute little open air cafe in the French Quarter, been in business since the mid-1800's, famous for serving the best beignets in New Orleans. Live jazz musicians entertain the customers as they wait for their orders of beignets. They were so good we went back the next day for more.
